This is the first blog I make in my whole life. I find it quite weird to share my view of the world and post it on te internet for the whole wide world to see. Writing is something that doesn’t come natural to me and I’m certainly not a practiced writer. So, you may be thinking “Why did I start blogging?”.
The idea came to my mind while watching an Ali Abdaal video on Youtube, Ali is a productivity expert and I really enjoy watching his video’s (You can find his channel here). While watching a video he made about blogging and how it turned his life around, he mentioned the book ‘Show your work!’ by Austin Kleon. At first I was a bit sceptical about the concept of blogging. I didn’t understand why people would make blogs and why people would read them. The book from Austin Kleon opened my eyes to the fact that sharing your work can be really beneficial for both the receiver and the sharer.
The book emphasises that you don’t need to be an expert at something to show it to the world. In most cases the journey that someone is making can be of great value to others. My passion is self-improvement. I’m not an expert at self-improvement, and I don’t have to be. The reason I started this website was to have an outlet for the journey that I’m undertaking.
Another reason that I started this website was to learn how to write and speak my mind. This is something I very much struggled with. In my teenage years I made a habit of not speaking much about my thoughts and my wellbeing to others. Over the last couple of years I tried to be more open to others so that I can express myself and create a better connection with people.
First and foremost this website is an outlet for me to express myself and speak my mind. But, it would be amazing if someone finds my blog helpful or inspiring in any way.
