A positive mindset

Obtaining a positive mindset sounds easier said than done, and in my experience, it is. I think all of us strive for a positive mindset, some more than others. But we all are searching for it in some kind of way. I too strive for a positive mindset, but I actually find it very hard to maintain it. By a positive mindset I mean the ability to look positively at your life and the things that happen in it.

In my puberty I had a very bad and negative mindset. I thought that everything was against me. Looking back on those years I find it such a bummer that I couldn’t enjoy the exciting world we live in. While growing out of puberty I started to change my mindset from a negative to a positive mindset. That wasn’t an easy thing to do. The positivity would come in waves, and after the positive wave was over, I slowly slipped back to the negative way of thinking.

This is a cycle that is continually going. But, with every cycle, the positive wave was stronger and lasted longer than the one before. Eventually it now has come to the point where I seldom think negatively. The world is such a beautiful place, and it’s a waste not to appreciate every moment you can experience that.

With the positive mindset that I’ve developed, I can safely say that I’m currently enjoying life more than ever before. Sometimes I have bad days and sometimes I have really good days, but that’s ok, that’s part of life. It’s delusional to think that you can only have good days. The key is to stay positive and see every day as a new opportunity to make something out of it.

I also try to convey this positive way of thinking to the people around me. Some are more open to it than others, everyone has their own way and pace of dealing with life. The great thing is that if you are kind and positive to people around you, you’ll get the kindness and positivity back. That way, we all help each other to enjoy life to the fullest potential.
